'Bachelor' Homeowners Sue Producers The owners of the Malibu estate where the latest edition of "The Bachelor" was shot are suing the show's producers, claiming they trashed the home and refused to make repairs.ABC, which airs the unscripted romance series, is not named in the suit brought by homeowners Kenneth and Marci Chyten. Kenneth Chyten, an attorney, is representing himself in the civil claim against Warner Bros. TV and other Warner Bros. affiliates involved in producing "The Bachelor."The newest edition of the show, with "Bachelorette" rejectee Bob Guiney in the title role, premieres Wednesday (Sept. 24) on ABC.The Chytens rented their Malibu home, which they call Oceanview Manor, to the show in June. The suit claims that when they returned a month later, the house was extensively damaged and left "in a filthy and uninhabitable condition." The couple is asking for compensation for repairs they say they had to make $5 million in punitive damages. (You can see a copy of the claim at TheSmokingGun.com.)The suit claims the producers, after promising not to harm the house or to repair any inadvertent damage, left behind holes drilled in walls; ripped out the Chytens' phone lines and didn't replace them at the end of shooting; damaged "irreplaceable" limestone floors; left trash all around the property; and allowed rodents and spiders to infest the home.It also alleges that Warner Bros. failed to compensate the Chytens for any damage, either directly or from a $1 million insurance policy the show was to have taken out to cover any mishaps on the property. The suit repeatedly makes mention of the fact that the Chytens have twin toddlers and that Marci Chyten was pregnant with another set of twins at the time. She claims she was "forced to move furniture, and unpack approximately 100 to 200 heavy boxes" after Warner Bros. refused to return their belongings to the house after the shoot.
